The Barflies Message Board
Welcome to the Barflies Group Message Board. We encourage all alcoholics to share their experience, strength and hope in a way that is conducive to AA’s primary purpose, which is to stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety.
PLEASE NOTICE: the Barflies Group maintains the right to block disruptive users and delete posts/replies that do not support our primary purpose as stated above or that we deem harmful to alcoholics. We truly want this board to be yet one more way for alcoholics to help one another, and we want it to be a safe place to go, should the need arise. With that said, we will do all we possibly can to maintain the integrity of the board.

Well hello everyone
- posted by Wade L at 10/09 02:50PM
I stumbled upon this site while looking for an AA speaker podcast to listen to at work. How is everyone doing.
I got sober in BR and moved to Slidell. I sure do miss AA in BR and the lively discusions around the coffee pot about the AA way of life. People here, while rich in experience, don't hold important the same ideas I learned while getting sober in AA.
I keep saying to myself that I am going to make a road trip to BR to make a meeting, but never get around to it. I have been making more meetings than previously in the effort to try to help the still suffering alcoholic.

Good to hear from you! You'll find out meeting list is up to date according to the most current information from the BR Central Office. If you decide to roll into town be sure to drop by the house on Drehr. We almost always have people over for coffee after our Saturday Night meeting and we'd love to have you join us.

We record the game if it's on at 8 and go on to the meeting. Then we bust out the goodies and watch it here being careful not to answer the phone or switch channels!

Hey Gilles,
yep, we are still in slidell. Everything is really good. Work is OK. I have been with this company for 7 years, I remember when I couldn't hold a job for 3 months. I bought kayak and started fishing. Check out the monster I caught.
My girls keep me pretty busy. They are growing up and are turning out pretty well. Leslie is busy with chasing the kids and she works at our church.
That's about our life, nice and simple.
